About Us
A Little History
The Follender family has been making novelty, toy and doll products in the
United States since
1910. When, in the 30s, the Ideal Toy and Novelty company wanted to make Shirley
Temple
dolls, it was Otto Follender who figured out how to duplicate those beautiful
sausage curls for
which the child star was famous, and so he won the exclusive contract. Thus
every original
Shirley Temple Doll sports a real-hair wig made by the Follender Wig Company
of East Islip,
New York.
With FollenderWerks (since 1995), Ross
Follender Birns has created new award and gift product
lines, but continues the craftsmanship, innovation, and spirit of his grandfather's
business. Your
satisfaction is guaranteed at FollenderWerks. Our products are sold through
awards distributors
across the USA and are available "factory direct." Most items are
hand-made or assembled in
our production shop in beautiful Manchester Center, VERMONT.
